(BACKGROUND)

The Music Industry Awards (MIA's) presented by VRT and VI.BE,  award Belgium's finest recording artists in a spectacular live award ceremony. Taking place amidst the Week of Belgian Music, the MIA's are part of a larger celebration highlighting artists from Belgium across the country. Contrary to other award shows they are a combination of Industry picks and Fan favorites.

(THE CHALLENGE)

This event marked the first time the MIA's took place in the Sportpaleis (The biggest live venue of the country), adding to the event’s significance. Sharing the stage with other shows like “De Gouden K’s” and the “Like Me” tour happening that month, we locked in to differentiate the event by highlighting its unique visual style and national importance .

(VISUAL STRATEGY)

In order to represent the diverse mixture of accomplished artists and different genres, we chose to blend the visual elements and colors in a flexible design system of different scenarios. We combined bold typography with a bright color palette, chosen to pop on the screens. This literally made the typography sing a melody above the tightly knit arrangements of gradients. The coordination of visuals provided the event organizers with the flexibility to seamlessly extend our visual system into additional print and digital designs.

“It was quite a challenge to provide a seamless visual experience, both live and on TV. Thanks to the professionalism of our partners in this project, this effort seemed effortless, but was actually flawless.”

(STRONG COLLABORATION)

Utilizing the technical craftsmanship and experience of Painting With Light and guided by Ludovi’s creative direction, we crafted a visual symphony tailored to the grand stage setup of the venue.

Collaborating throughout the process, we determined what works visually and what we needed to avoid, especially with the multitude of screens and layouts. This close collaboration enabled us to shape the optimal viewing experience both for those at home and in the arena.

(A TRUE PARTNER)

As a motion studio, we believe our job is only complete when the event is a resounding success.

Our commitment doesn't end when we deliver our rendered files. We aim to stay engaged throughout the event, anticipating and adjusting as needed.

That's why we've chosen to be more than just a supporting partner. We're present not only during rehearsals but also on the day of the event itself. This allows us to provide ongoing support to our AV partners and show directors, ensuring every visual aspect of the show can be fine-tuned in real-time.
