From backstage to Onstage: designing a brand in motion

MOTION BRANDING

EVENT CONTENT

Background

The 1302 EXPERIENCE is no ordinary museum exhibit. Nestled in Kortrijk, it offers visitors a dynamic portal to one of Flanders’ most pivotal historical moments: the Battle of the Golden Spurs. Teaming up with Create.eu, a partner whose creativity matches our own, we set out to craft an experience that wasn’t just informative but emotionally gripping. Drawing inspiration from historical archives—and a surprise nod to the stained-glass charm of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast—we aimed to make history feel alive, tangible, and deeply personal.

We brought history to life with dynamic stained-glass textures, where each RGB value in our 2D illustrations blended cathedral and granite glass for a luminous effect. Immersive matte paintings used 2.5D parallax to add depth, making museum walls feel alive. Visitors experienced the battlefield through dual VR perspectives—seeing the fight through the eyes of both a French knight and a Flemish warrior. By fusing historical accuracy with rich visual storytelling, we created an experience that was both engaging and deeply resonant.
